The 30 day challenge!
So, we are doing a little fun 30 day health challenge at work. We are picking one good habit to pick up and one bad habit to do away with. I’m thinking my bad habit might just be getting of eggs and dairy products in my diet (I’m already a vegetarian). So, basically I’ll be vegan for the month.
I’ll preface this by saying I won’t stick with it. I raise my own bees and chickens. The bees are raised without antibiotics and the chickens are free-range with organic, non-GMO feed. One of my friends raises cows that she milks only after the babies have been fed. The cheese is made using vegetable based rennet, too. So, really, I have the most humane dairy, eggs, and honey available.
However, I would love tips about foods to avoid as a vegan. Also, rad recipes are always appreciated!
I did a thing today! Homemade dandelion jelly! Yay!
Built my own beehive. The bees are home now! Hopefully all goes well this week!
Little Waffles! It seems so long ago…1 week old!
Can we all be excited for vegan crab cakes?! Yum! Made some homemade french bread and vegan broccoli slaw to go with it! My belly is so happy!
Brought my bees home today! <3 What a fiasco, though! I accidentally dropped the queen box into the main box, fished that out, pulled the cork on her box, and there was no candy plug! Yikes! Dumped her into the hive with the rest of the box…hopefully she doesn’t get killed. I only got stung once, though! Still…I’m super excited to have bees!
